I have always been told to plant trees in late fall or winter, however I have seen several publications saying that tulip poplars should be planted in Spring.

Any thoughts?

Tulip poplar is very fast growing 5'-15' per year, and will grow very large 80'-120'. Make sure you have enough room before you start digging.

Your question was answered in the second post, I was simply stating some additional info regarding the species, you are welcome.
