What you have may have worked but not well and or for long. Just find a 4000 starter pulley. If you look at the design of the pulleys, its stronger than the one on the left, which is oem 3700. And 4000 pulleys are more plentiful.

Ok, I've got the 530026371 on order from Ebay along with a tune up kit. I have quite a few larger dead trees on the property, a mix of soft and hardwood. Any suggestions on what length bar and chain to apply to this saw. Not looking to start a chain war but the most economical use of time and money.

I've been searching everywhere for a starter pulley for a Poulan countervibe 3400 and came across this site. Saw someone has/had one. Do you still have it?

Works best to put a “Want to buy” thread over in the Tradin’ Post section.

Apparently those Poulan 3400 plastic pulleys are getting brittle with age.

Nixon, over on the sawhog forum, was also looking for one of those 530069290 pulleys.

I saw on eBay a 530069291 pulley for a trimmer. Look similar will it work as replacement?
