Hi gang, it's been awhile, so I hope all the 'old reliables' are well and still with us. My question now, is about an old craftsman power sharp. It looks like it was made by Poulon, and has some kind of gadget on the chain cover. What is this gadget, and how does it work? Any replyes would be welcomed. Thanks

We've discussed this before, do a search.

In a nutshell, it's a sharpener that supposedly sharpens the chain while the saw is running. You have to have the special type of chain that came with the saw for it to work, and even then it didn't really work. I took it off my two saws that had it.

On edit, you might try searching for "Sears" along with "power sharp" for better results.

Thanks, I didn't think it was a good idea, or every saw since then would have it. I'll see what I can do to get rid of it. Thanks again, Jay
