I've had 3 pair of the Spirit II's and got the new model a few months ago.

They feel good, and climb well. Some of the improvements make them better....but...I'm on the second pair of the new ones and these have the sole separating in several places on both boots. The first one had a synthetic part of the upper come apart at a sewn seem.

Has anyone else had problems with this boot? I'm thinking of replacing with a different brand vs breaking in a new pair every other month for the next year.

John, I climbed in the Spirit II for a couple years. When the IIIs came out, I didn't like them and finally made the switch to the Asolo 520s. So far, so good.

While my wife has had success with REI brand boots I went through a couple with comfort and construction problems. Now I can't say enough about Asolos, they have been great from both comfort and longevity.
