Can you identify the muffler that did this to me? My feet went out from under me while I was standing still. The saw was running and the brake was set. I was very lucky!

I'll say it was a Husky.
I got a nice burn on the back of my hand a few days ago. burns suck, it seems that putting ice on them only intensifies the pain.

i got one too! slipped off a brush pile and landed arm first on the hot muffler. still got the scar about 5 years later.
Probably a Husqvarna under 60 cc and not your favorite saw any more.

Worst burn I ever got was on my brothers 4 wheeler. It was about 10 years ago and the scar is still there.

I make it a point to make sure the chain brake works and is set when I go to take more than a couple of steps , sometimes when I get tired and stupid I forget the rule so I'm glad to see your OK and you posted a picture of discomfort to remind us of the rule (set the brake) .
