is a 3/8 7 rim sprocket the same whether the chain is .050 or .058 gauge?

Chain gauge doesn't matter for rim. Just pitch (.325 or 3/8).

Hopefully you didn't mean the .043 picco mini/lo-pro narrow kerf - as none of the picco/lo-pro 3/8 chain use the same rims as regular 3/8".

Funny stuff pops up on used saws - you never know before you inspected everything!

3/8" picco/lopro on regular 3/8" sprocket usually sort of works btw, but it is about like using an extremely worn sprocket. The picco sprockets are larger than the regular 3/8 ones, to compensate for the lower chassis of the chain.
