If you do an advanced search, 'ripsaw', then specify milling thread, you'll get some good reading.

I may be getting one in a few months.

Thats if I dont come up with a good way to turn a 10' regular bandsaw into a milling machine. I just got back from my initial inspection.

stihladdicted, Woodshop (The King of the Ripzaw IMO) has some very, very
good post. The best one is the easiest to find. When you at the main page of the milling form, look at the right side of the screen, you will see VIEWS
click it, will list all threads in the most viewed first, the same can be done
on the REPLIES.

Or if you don't want to do that, here it is, and good reading.

And a big welcome to AS!

Just wondering if anyone out there has a ripsaw attachment. How well does it work? Pros, Cons..

Here's a few of the better threads on using a ripsaw:

After you've had a change to digest the info above, just ask away.

BTW, woodshop has probably more experience with the ripsaw than the rest of us ripsaw owners combined. He's also very willing to share his experience and methods; both will save a new user a lot of trial and error. Welcome to the forum.

THANKS for that summary of some of my ripsaw posts flht01. I actually tried to do that earlier this eve, started to post, but got one of those "server busy" messages,(been getting lots lately) and wouldn't let me post. You beat me too it.

I've milled thousands of bd ft with the Ripsaw, and for MY particular situation and style of milling lumber, it fits the bill very well as that last thread above explains. There are many other ways of milling lumber though. Alaskan to logosol and lots in between. Stihladdicted, if you want more specific answers concerning the Ripsaw, just ask more specific questions, and I'll do the best I can to help.

Ripsaw

When i was doing some research before buying my ripsaw, I traded a few emails with Toxedo from one of the other sites. A couple of days ago he sent my an email expressing an interest in selling his ripsaw. After geting an ok from him, I thought I'd post the info here in case someone was interested. If I remember correctly, he's from the great white north. Anyway, here's the info:

I think I want to sell my Ripsaw, with a Sthill 065 on it. I have it for many years but it is still a low timer tool. I don't need it anymore since I bought a bigger mill. Any interested ?

The problem is maybe the proximity of the potential buyer. I understand
one would like to have a look at it before buying and give it a try.
Maybe I will try to sell it to a bush pilot like me from my community.

Anyway, it comes with 3 lenghts of aluminum guide, and all the other
gears that come with it
I can provide pics to the potential buyer.
