Well Gents! It might not be Miller time, but it's definitely Mill'n time!
Most definitely the biggest OVERLOAD of green Spruce the trailer has hauled yet.

This saw mill has been on Kodiak since WW2
Not the mill site. The actual sawmill!

After the Sawyer picked the top three logs. I dumped the rest for him.

Cut safe, stay sharp and be aware! 👍
Nice load of logs. I love your tree climbers. They look like they are having fun.

Did you send them the video? I did to one of those ads one time. I think the ad disappeared in about 20 minutes. :surprised3:
I've done that many times, you know I like trolling 🤣.
I think you were in the ballpark Jim. Love them Redtails. Chainsaw rates are listed in this link too. (on topic:laugh:)

I looked at ours one time and just laughed, no way I'd run my equipment that cheap for someone else's dime. If I can't make 500 a day(unless its a partial day) my equipment and me, then why leave the house at all with it.

The sawyer at the small mill I worked at, told me that years before, he was tying down a load like that he had on his dump truck and a log rolled off and hit him in the head. Knocked him unconscious.

Your bobcat will load them that high?
Yes it will load them that that high no problem, but One must be careful, take their time, and know what they are doing. Never turn their back to the load when strapping down! Expect the unexpected. I haven't had a log roll off or spit out yet. Knock on wood. The grader blade steak extensions provide a little protection. I do need to beef up the steak sleeves with some welded gussets for sure though, just incase! I'll be doing that here soon.

My father used drain oil also.
I've considered a wood stove in the shed and then adding a nice waste oil drip, my carbon credits are gonna be shot anyway .
Try a little tranny fluid, it burns real hot
:blob2:
.

Well shoot! I've been amazed at how far down I've been able to damper down the chimney on my Heatilator fireplace this year. Had just a small fire going so I looked up at the damper. The rod/lever is no longer connected to the damper plate. I'm thinking a small screw(s) through the plate into the rod held everything in place, and the bolts had burnt off. Going to have to think on how I'm going to fix this in the Spring. In the meantime, I can reach the plate and turn it with a poker. PITA.

Dang! If you ever decide to quit your day job, you could start a restaurant.
I love cooking and love learning to cook new things. Not sure if I would love it if I had to do it every day especially running the business!

I have thought about cooking as a retirement job...that way I could do what I liked without having to deal with the business end.

Cool pics man!
Beautiful sawlogs 👍
We used to have two of those skidders...one w/ the regular decking blade, and one with that loader setup.....really handy ol' machines....

I absolutely love hog hunting and as long as funds allow plan to do it at least once yearly going forward. I do need to alter my rifle though---the barrel is too long for a short range gun, it is a pain to maneuver in a blind.
Well I know you have one short barreled rife that will work. Get a good dog and all you need is a knife.

Video soon ,Lol 👍
Whoot whoot:chainsaw:.
My neighbor a couple houses down is out making some noise with a saw, he could use that one on the oak he's cutting when he gets to the base. It's probably 40"+ and it's a double, property line tree, may be some surprises in the butt log.

She like big wood 🪵,Lol 😆IMG_1513.jpeg

Lets clairfy that shall we....it is shorter than my Model 110 long range with a 24" barrel plus muzzle brake. Still very much long enough to be legal lol
I can neither confirm nor deny that there is legal and there is only illegal if you get caught. At ease, carry on, smoke em if you got em.
