What year was it? The resistor mod doesn't work on the pk3 system. Tried it a few different times. The error code that comes up just suggests the system doesn't see a key. Think the next step is I have to suck it up and get a gm wiring diagram for it. The pk3 was an up option from the pass lock system.Had the issue on a suburban. I was fortunate enough to know a skilled gm tech. He told me the exact issue and fix. No problem since. For me it was not the key at all. There is a connection under the dash that is a bundle of about 20 plus wires. One of those wires is for ignition/ security. It measures resistance and tells the brain it is ok to let the car start. The issue was corrosion in the connector. More corrosion, more resistance and it would send an in accurate reading to the brain leading it to think the car was being stolen.
Nipped this wire on either side of the connector, soldered in a resistor that was withing an acceptable range, did a " re - learn " to teach the brain the new resistance it should be looking for.
Thinking more on it I think he told me to do the bypass before clipping the wires on either side to maintain continuity. As suggested, check out some YouTube vids to get the plan down pat. It has been years since I did it and I might be a little foggy on specifics.
yup! that is a decent load. at least by my standards. wood looks good!I've got an overabundance of scrounged wood, probably more then I can burn in 2 or 3 years, but I still can't pass up a good scrounge. Yesterday, the wife and I were out for a walk and I came across this.. Fresh cut oak. Some of those logs are way too long, no way the city will pick them up, so I'm guessing the tree company will be back for it. Anyway, I couldn't get back to the house quick enough to get my truck.

Had to do a little arm twisting to get my daughter to help, but wound up with a decent load. I'll probably head back over today. It's like Thanksgiving dinner, you can always find more room.

i read a bit other day on all this space exploration. we need to tend to Earth more so than try to visit all the stars in the Universe! i tend to agree with that, for as the bit mentioned... there is no Plan B... ie, no Planet B!Us humans are just a grain of sand, in the earths desert of evolution, old Mother Nature giveth and she will always take it back .
i wondered how he got it to look like that! and here i thot it was just great stone work!Calling photoshopped. To clean!!!
but did know the value of a dollar!!!Maybe he didn't know the price of firewood?
Idk why but I would just love a chevelle. 4 door preferably. Old neighbor had one, white with a doe skin interior. 4 gear just a 350 w/ a mild build, sure put a smile on my face when I went for a ride in it.Ohh I had the Chevelle out too . View attachment 1051507
Thinking of f150, anyone gesr from him recently? If you wanna see some really sweet rides the members here have then you need to do a search for " 08f150". He had some of the biggest and baddest rides you ever saw. They could burn some rubber, several ran on straight alcohol. You'll thank me later.
I'll be giving you a ring then. It's my logging friends car, and I'm just at the point where I don't know what to do with it. Security light is on solid, 30min relearn the light never went out. P1626 code in the computer.Yes!!

Ex GM master that is now the punching bag, I mean fixed ops director at the dealership
That’s the number to my office
If the light is flashing after trying to start, there is a 30 minute fix that costs zero money
It’s been a few years since I turned a wrench, but I have a shop full of fellas that can help if I can’t figure it out
If you have a scanner with mode 6 (may be mode 8) you can see the misfire log. Fords suck for setting a misfire code. Fought the same issue off and on with my 5.4 in the expedition. In the end I got accel coils and new plugs. Got sick of the auto zone $60.00 junk coils that didn't last. Yeah they warranty them, but it gets old changing the some one out all the time. Also the connectors to the coils can get junky and need replaced. My truck is black and it started feeling weird after shifting into drive, what could it be .
Sorry, couldn't resist, but I've handled so many of those calls .
Mine actually did start having "that" symptom today right after going to the carwash, but I'm not sure the carwash had anything to do with it. Shakes a bit when it goes into drive, but if I downshift at the same speed I don't feel anything(this is on my 2000 excursion with a v-10 BTW). It does feel as though there is now a slight miss at lower rpm, but I haven't seen the check engine light come on for random misfire yet. I'll check it out a bit more Thursday when I get a bit.
Great your willing to help out, many times it's hard getting help on an older vehicle, then you buy new(well, not me lol) and half the shops can't fix those either .
I agree, were so worried about anything but our own home. Bet we know more about Mars then our own oceans....i read a bit other day on all this space exploration. we need to tend to Earth more so than try to visit all the stars in the Universe! i tend to agree with that, for as the bit mentioned... there is no Plan B... ie, no Planet B!
Pretty soon there will be so many vehicles running around Mars it will need traffic lights.I agree, were so worried about anything but our own home. Bet we know more about Mars then our own oceans....
No, they'll all be "smart" cars .Pretty soon there will be so many vehicles running around Mars it will need traffic lights.
I was thinkin Brandon mite want them. Then if anyone said that it was a waste of money he could call them a"dog faced pony soldier", but I never get political. No, they'll all be "smart" cars .
If each piece is 5 bucks it adds up. Wouldn't mind finding a stack of 5s on the roadsideMaybe he didn't know the price of firewood?
Yeaaa, but can you imagine how big the farts were, coming from those dinosaurs!Neither do I, except it ain't my fault . And yes, warming and cooling trends have been going on since before I was here, and certainly before the Industrial Age/revolution. I'm pretty sure they could somehow blame the dinosaurs dying out on humans, but then they'd have to admit that humans and Dino's walked the earth at the same time(that parts actually true though ).
And I know if it was mans fault, those claiming to have the fixes for it are the ones who are doing the most harm .
Nah, I clean the front glass every 2-3 days.Calling photoshopped. To clean!!!
The stone work is pretty bad by my standards but that was the best the builder could find .i wondered how he got it to look like that! and here i thot it was just great stone work!
Yes, but ended up getting a full rebuild, and deleted all the AFM crap.is that the one with the leaking heads?
Did you have the block and heads magnafluxed and or pressure tested?Yes, but ended up getting a full rebuild, and deleted all the AFM crap.
