Heck, I wouldn't have been to happy about starting at that temp, even if it was low humidity
.Having a hard time getting much done today outside, but the drive is about 95% done. Such a pain when the ground isn't frozen yet. Maybe by next season I'll have a fix for that built.

We got hit with more rain, the14" of snow is almost gone but water is everywhere. Loading up the IBC tote for the week and I noticed lots of possum or racoon poop in the piles of wood in the shed. I guess they come in at night and do it. My wife is the one to stack so I never check the shed out, I just go on cutting and splitting.
High winds again, outdoor temp is 40 something *f. Whenever we can get to an actual freeze I'm all for it. Yards a swamp, left some nasty Ruts dragging the generator out of the shed with the kubota. Happy it started up so easy. If it didn't, the farmer steve special generator would have went into action. Not nearly as efficient on fuel as the little diesel, but it always starts. Just can't have as much on in the house as the wife and kids would like.
Well if you need some snow and cold we've got a bit to spare.
Plowed last night and then a good part of today running skidsteer and shovels, fill the wood boxes against the coming deepfreeze, roof rake, shoveling again...
Allison did a good stint shoveling.
Scrounging season is over, I won't get a chance to put that new to me 462 in wood for a while.

Sharp one's.
I really like the Ashley Iles chisels, and I'm kinda partial to the London pattern handles.
Also really enjoy the long paring chisels.
The socket type are a bit too small about handle for good control, imo.
The narex are quite good tools for a reasonable price, they have comfortable handles and narrow side lands on the blades which I like.
Be careful of this guy, he might be a chiseler.
Dang! You have more chisels than I have.... well, anything! That's a seriously nice collection.
Well, power just came back on. Kinda surprised looking at the outage map. Just our lane was affected (like normal, we're a dead end of the line.) And there were lots of other outages. Get lucky sometimes. I'll take it!

Cowgirl and the Cowkids are away for a few days visiting my MIL. Now I know some blokes take advantage of those opportunities to play up. "When the cat's away..." etc.
Well, in Cowgirl's absence I've been up to something I haven't done much of in quite a while. After all, we all have 'urges'. I'm not saying I'm proud and I'm not saying that the spark has gone out of the relationship but sometimes a bloke needs to blow out a few cobwebs when he has the chance.

Started off the day with a 5km run, then a couple of egg rolls.
I had some company.
Suitably fuelled, I went back out to a tree that Roscoe and I made a start on back in June. Very fat trunk. Termite pipe up the middle but mostly good.
Even big peppermints are generally splittable by hand, the X27 was superior to the Isocore in this stuff.
