I buy what they say is a 10 cord log truck load of 8 footer's mostly red oak. The stock pile he loads from is where I work. I measured the truck where the logs are stacked, the length and the height the logs measure 8 foot long, I calculated it out and it does come out to 10 cord. I have always figured cut and split it would come out to more than 10 cord, but I never have done it to see for sure. I am making it a point this spring when I get my fresh load of 10 cord of 8 ft logs to cut, split, and stack then measure it, I guess I can't say one way or the other until I do it myself and see what the result is.
