Hello everyone, I’m new to the sight and have a little experience with chainsaws but not much.

Here is the story about this saw. I got it from a guy that said it was brand new in a box all shrink wrapped in pieces. He put it together and said it would fire but not run. I told him I’ll take a look at it and see if I can get it to run. I got it home and found the choke was pulled. I pushed the choke in and it fired up on the first pull. I called him and told him I got it running. He told me I could have it because it was too small with an 11” bar.

Should I use it and is it worth anything? It looks pretty old and the guy said it was from the 60’s. If it’s an antique I don’t want to use it and ruin the value.

Thanks, Brad

I have a beater one with a broken recoil and yours is the secound Ive seen. dont know if they are unmmon or not tho.

Wards sold them, there were other rebadged models. Interesting little saws, some came with every feature possible, including choke lever activated decomps and heavily chromed mufflers. Plugs with muffs time.

I wouldn't worry about ruining the value of that saw. It does look very nice. I would say that it is kinda like a Chevy Corsica hatchback with low miles. Yeah, it is a bit less common than other saws. I'm sure it runs fine for what it is. I doubt the condition or possible scarcity is going to cause anyone to part with any extra money. The only way to know what it is worth is to put it on Ebay. There is a distinct chance that it will bring less than $25, though.

Around these parts there is oddles of them, not worth much even brand new but they were a good little saw for their time and money. I still have the one my dad owned that he used to clear several acres of big spruce, still runs fine. You might as well just run it if you don`t expect to get much over $50. for it.

Thanks for the replies. I will use it after reading your replies. I have a Homelite 240 with an 18” bar that’s too big for my woods buggy. I plan to make a mount and strap it to my woods buggy to help me when the trees attack.

Brad, whatcha got going in the blue frame?
The blue frame is my off-road hill climbing woods buggy.

Here are a few pictures and videos so you can see what I use my saw for.
