Here is some of the Red Elm pics from yesterday.
Sorry no pics during the milling, i will make sure to get some on the next log.
The log was approx. 36" diameter and 6'6" in length. Had to trim it down a little with the chainsaw freehand to get it in the mill, then cut some boards off the slab. The mill can only handle up to 32".
It was starting to rain so we were trying to get them stacked and stickered quickly. The 9 boards above the slab are 22" wide are sold awaiting pickup.
Everything was cut 5/4 except the slab.
Then below the slab are 4 flitches that were cut off the free hand piece. below that... we have 10 rows of 11" boards ( 20 boards total as they are 2 deep. )
