Splitting a little ash

I need to get me one of those power splitters for the willow tree that fell over. I've just started splitting and we have major amounts of dead ash around here, the stuff stands dead so long it's already dry and splits nicely with an axe. The first time I tried splitting wet willow, it's like plunging an axe into a heap of bread dough. Wet cherry is doable with an axe, but splinters quite a bit.

I love ash, it splits easily, and burns real hot!
