Has anyone in the US gotten any titanium bars lately? I was wanting to try one but can't find any one remotely local that has heard of them. I've seen several on ebay lately but not sure if I want to try that route.

It says made in Australia right on the label...

.

Where does one get new stock GB bars with that statement on the Packaging?
NOTHING I have found from GB has "Made in Australia" on it, and hasn't for over a year now.
Just lotsa Chineese crap.

I'd definately snag a Ti Bar or two if I could.

Stay safe!

Ya sure!LOL!

Nah. I'm longer winded than Tom Trees LOL!

There's a GB made Husqvarna bar or two here and there around here, but everything else is completely devoid of "Made in Australia".

I'm a Oregon hatin' kinda guy, and am hoping GB stays the heck outta China completely. SOMEBODY has gotta offer an affordable and viable alternative,or we are all screwed.

Stay safe!

i challenge anyone to prove to me the gb bars are made in china.:)

GB should have a presence at the Expo next month, I will investigate for
A.S. if Darin will hire me.....

Pay my expenses... Hotel... Riverboat casino...... Hookers.... Well, hooker..

Well at least a couple of brews at Hooters......

Print up some Arboristsite business cards, I may be able to get a Stens hat at least......

I have made up with my Stihl Buddies, they have forgiven me of my past,
and current..... transgressions.....For lack of a better word......

Since GB will have been "Cast out" from the womb of the Stens/Ariens/Gravely
booth, I should find their remains somewhere at a card table on the
backside.

And if the card table/booth is occupied by little chinese guys, instead of the usual arrogant Australian guy, then we will know for sure......

Or will we.........???????????

I will post pics at least.....

The only thing I can say here, is that I have seen pics of orange "TI 40" bars that look very different posted on here, even in the same post - I would want to see a pic of the actual bar, before buying it! :givebeer:

I'll supply the hooker money for you Fish. You seem like the kind of guy that would go for a $10 full girlfriend experience one. I'll throw in $20 so you can stay 2 nights.

There is a fair bit of evidence to suggest that GB has had bars made in China but very little to suggest they are still being made in Australia. As you mentioned though mate, this isn't to say that their Ti bars, Chinese or not, aren't good bars. GB are the ones that need to prove their bars are made in Australia, not us  For all the talk about this over nearly a few years now not one person from GB has stood up and proven their bars are made here and put the matter to rest. This issue has been raised on numerous forums too with no reply from GB, one of which Tom Beerens is a member...

GB has also just had a massive falling out with one of their Chinese partners too so all looking bad from GB. I drove past GB the other day in Melbourne on my way to see Jakmax and their premises looked like it had been abandoned. I'm not sure just how much longer GB will be around. Other suppliers in Australia are giving them a pummeling on both price and service.

Mmm its a shame as you probably know i am a big fan of there Titanium bars, maybe i should get a couple of spares while i can for down the track.I have been using some GB rim sprockets latterly and there are holding up all right and are a lot cheaper than the Stihl ones.

MCW dont suppose ya got any older ones SN/T 25 63PA or SN/T 20 63PA :D

Who cares if they are made in China, so long as the parent company has quality control at there manufacturing facility, the product being produced will be the same as if made in Austilia or another country for that matter.
So many OPE parts/engines used by major manufacturers are made in china, its all about the qulity control of the parent company. Not to offend my brother to the south of me in the United States but Briggs, Kohler etc...have many engines and alot of parts are made in china......on the commerical engines has anybody noticed a difference (on the Briggs PowerMore engines yes of course but they they are throw-away and cheaper than the previous Briggs throw-aways). The chinese and other non-north american countries have been bashed for years for manufacturing consumer goods. Seems the germans are ok now, as are the japanese etc.......china has a bad rap becuase G8 country companies have outsourced the production of good to china to make cheap good so the manufacturers can make more money, it has nothing to do with the industrial complex of china;s ablility to produce quality goods, they just produced alot of goods as mandated by the originating overseas company be it briggs/kohler/husqvarna/stihl/.........(insert any company here)

I agree with you to a point. Yes if the QC is there and the materials are the same, quality should be the same, however I've yet to see this. You brought up Kohler and this is actually a good example of quality dropping off immediately after parts from China started being used. At one point Kohler had a pretty large share of the pro OPE market, and as of now they have an almost nonexistent market share, everything I see now is Kawasaki powered. The problem with the Kohlers was defective valves from China.

GB, so crappy that even Stens does not want to deal them. I would rather buy a new Silver Streak bar than a new GB bar any day of the week.

GB...low quality?

maybe, but there are buyers for low=priced goods a-plenty. I bet it has more to do with inability to deliver product on time, terms, and maybe business practices.

Who was the importer...Stens, or some third party?

the real question is whether Stens will handle something else, or not bother. I don't see Oregon...Oregon already competes with a big line of aftermarket OPE stuff.

:agree2:

Even Honda has gone to CRAP!

Chineese made Jap Motor...bought because Brigs went chineese and Kohler is now worse than an old Tecumseh.

The China route might have fattened up the bottom line temporarily or allowed price point longevity, but it's gonna cost all of them in the end.

The first one to get a handle back on QC and NOT be made in China, will quickly set themselves apart, and above the rest.

Nothing made in china is consistent in quality. NOTHING.

Stay safe!
