I forgot to mention this in my previous thread (not that they're related). When I store my Stihl 009L the chain oil slowly leaks out. What would cause this to happen?

Also, what's the difference between the Stihl 009 and 009L?

Thanks

Make sure the oil cap is tight and clear of debris. May have a bad o ring under the cap. The 009 was a 2.3 ci and the 009L was a 2.5 ci. Little more power on the L

I find it's not unusual for a little oil to drip off the critter, especially just after being used. I usually put a rag or something under it if it's just going to sit for a few days. Any longer than that & I just drain the oil & store it dry.

This was a lot more than a little drip. Pretty much the whole tank drained out on my workbench. What a mess! After recently using the saw it doesn't seem to be leaking. Must have been debris or a loose cap.
