There is a guy on eBay that offers a coil repair for $80. Has anybody tried it and did it work OK ?

Nope.... interested to know how he fixes them.
You sure the coil is the issue? They don’t often fail, it’s the condensers that tend to be problematic.

The 031s and 032s have different ignitions.
They had electronic ignition in them as well. Your just lucky if it had points. Easier to fix.
Yeah, this is the one that has the trigger. I replaced the trigger with an SG-01 which should work but didn't.
So, I took the coil, plug wire, and kill wire out. There is no resistance between the kill wire and laminations of the coil.. ie it's shorted internally apparently.
