Stihl 310 question/muffler mod

Hello all, Just completely dismantled my dads tired 029. Impulse line had a crack and leaned it out and scored the piston/cylinder. I have a brand new ms310 long block to put in. I have modded the muffler and wondered if i should break the engine in with a stock muffler or would it be ok to break it in with the modded muffler? Thanks

It will be fine with the modded muffler.

The saw will be alot more power than the 290 for sure.:greenchainsaw:

Be sure to tach it before cutting. Break in will be fine with either muffler, just make sure it's not running too fast.

Yea, im hoping it will turn out to be a decent saw for my dad. I do not have a tach so I'll be tuning it by ear. Thanks for the input guys!

make it burble at wide open throttle then cut as much wood as you can with the hammer down and the saw at wide open throttle in the wood. brake it in lik you stole it.
