I got a 10-inch Stihl 1/4 Picco bar with a 10-inch chain for my Makita XCU 06 top handle chainsaw. The bar and chain will not fit because the tensioner will not go back further. I have the right sprocket on too.

Can you either drill a new tensioner hole, or elongate the existing one with a file? I have done that more than once when retrofitting bars to saws they weren't meant for.
