Stihl bar won't fit on Makita saw.

I got a 10-inch Stihl 1/4 Picco bar with a 10-inch chain for my Makita XCU 06 top handle chainsaw. The bar and chain will not fit because the tensioner will not go back further. I have the right sprocket on too.

This is what the setup looks like:

Can you either drill a new tensioner hole, or elongate the existing one with a file? I have done that more than once when retrofitting bars to saws they weren't meant for.

The 12" Stihl Picco bar worked just fine on my 36v Makita battery tophandle, without modification.

I don't know. I am going to try the chain for the MSA 161 first.

Yeah. I'm thinking that I might need the chain for the msa161 because it is supposedly longer. Do you have a part number for that so I can order one on ebay?
