Stihl Elastostart hows that thing work?

I could have used that D handle or an Elastostart on an 064 that came back in today for repairs. The owner ran it so hard that he chopped his rim sprocket in half with his chain. I usually always trial run a saw that I work on. The 064 is up and running, but I may have to put my right arm in a sling. I have to wonder if this 064 would actually turn out to be an Elastostart Destroyer.
