I have an old FS80E that is used for volunteer trail work. It has the Japanese engine and it suddenly died. It has always been a strong runner and has 155 lbs compression. I tested with the Zat 4 and it doesn't have any spark. I'm thinking that it needs a new ignition coil, 4112 400 1300, which is kinda expensive.

Is there any other coil that I can use on this?

Does anyone have any experience with replacing the coil on this trimmer?

I have an FS 80 and I had to replace the coil 3 years ago. It is about $30 from the dealer. You can use a business card to set the gap. It is a very simple repair. You will need a Torx 27 bit and about 15 minutes.
