I was surfing YouTube and came across Steve’s Small Engine Saloon. The particular video was about the ingredients of Sthil Motomix. He showed info straight from STIHL. According to the chart, it looks as though it is about 95% fuel and the remainder is additives. Does any one know if the other premixed fuels (Trufuel,Husqvarna, VP ) are made the way? Also, has anyone heard if they’re going to go back to round cans? Apparently, a few folks gave less than stellar reviews because of the new sqaure cans.

My Dad bought one. I poured into empty Trufuel quart cans with a funnel . I've heard that a Colman lantern fuel screw on spout will fit but I've never tried it.
I keep some on hand but mostly just use Trufuel for storing outdoor power equipment. Use 4 cycle to store mowers etc.

Years ago I called the company that makes the canned premix for everybody in the USA, there may be more than one company now, the fellow there told me that the fuel was the same regardless of who's label was on it except for Motomix, as Stihl had their own proprietary formula that they specified.

Well, as I suspected, there are no plans to return to round cans according to Stihl. I contacted customer service and that’s what I was told. Order part number 7010 881 0101. That’s the number for the spout that will work with the square can. Spend MORE money....

The can in the picture says it's 1 qt.

Also note it says it's fuel, not gasoline. I think that's one reason it stays relatively stable. I have been told it's an alcohol base (not ethanol), but I don't know if that's actually true. Alcoholic saws, that's what we need!

I don't know if Stihl ,& Vp ,Motor mix is similar synth blend the same as Aspen fuel which is an Alkylate brew a synth fuel no E & a much longer shelf life & being brewed contains no minute inconsistency's unlike a natural product like gas Which comes from a product formed underground over ion's of years as said I would use the 40/1 if i used it perhaps a tiny extra oil ending around 35/1 I would not use it not for any tech reason just our through put of fuel the cost would be a NO NO in a trying to make a living set up+ the main advantage is shelf life even opened so is excellent for a guy using his aw 1/2 times a month can leave the brew in the tool with no worry of the fuel going off

I saw a guy at a GTG using one on a VP or Trufuel can. seemed to work ok. Cheap at walmart.

Someone posted a chart showing the big fuel brands and how they tested out. Moto mix had the highest octane and the least impurities. Followed by VP (though by a good distance) and then the rest seemed to all be about the same for last place.

Don't know who manufactures Powercare.

But...
They carry both Echo fuels I think. Trufuel. And VP too I believe.
