Stihl ms193t choke lever removal

Hello I have a ms193t that I'm trying to get carb out of,how does the choke lever come off of it? Thanks

It pulls off of the shaft.

Is the 192t the same? I had to take the butterfly off and pull the whole shaft out. Then I lost the little detent spring and ball. It was a miracle I found those on the garage floor. Then I stripped the threads in the little shaft where the butterfly bolts to the shaft and had to retap for 6-32. What a disaster that turned into.

I think they are about the same setup. I used needle nose pliers to pull the orange plastic handle off the metal rod. It took a little effort but it does come off and then pushes back on nicely.

You have to remind yourself that they design their products with servicability in mind. Sometimes special tools make them easier and quicker.

If it's giant PIA, then you're probably doing it wrong....... "That's what She said" lol
