Hello,
Putting a new piston in my Stihl MS880 milling saw and noticed the crank had some damage and discoloration. I split the cases to check out the condition of the lower end.
Looks like it had been damaged by a previous attempt to split the cases I assume, and the top end of the conrod looks discolored by heat. New genuine Stihl cranks are expensive and not sure on the quality of the off brand replacements, so wondering if I could keep running this or for sure need a new crank
Got this saw second hand and while it has done a lot of work for me I was worried it was beaten on in a previous life based on the price I paid!
