Stihl wide nose bars

Any one wanting the wide nose bars the cannon super bar plus is a wide nose on the stihl wide nose pattern. Terry is doing the group buy and those are in it.

Those wide nose Cannon bars are expensive but I would like to have one. I probably would not use it much because I am hooked on lightweight bars.

I use lightweight bars for felling and limbing. I use the cannons at the log pile when I'm cutting up rounds for splitting. Weight is less important.

They have two different min length listed on their website. Anyone know if it is 20" or 24" and where do they list the drive link counts?

They're available in .404 and 3/8". 76dl for .404".

Yes 84 dl 3/8" and 76 dl .404".

Post in his group buy thread. I was just trying to help him hit 20 so we would get the deal. I've been wanting g another one but shipping has kept me from doing it.

Yeah the cannon wide tip are crazy expensive. I know the tips are stihl tips but damn.

Yeah they are high. I like cannon bars better than stihl ES.

I just checked and they are all crossing over to the narrow nose. Other distributors might be getting them? The only wide nose left that I can still get would be a 25" in .063...but this will be made in Brazil...for what it's worth.

What is the advantage of the wide tip bar over a standard bar?

Longer bar tip life when doing plunge cuts is what they were designed for. They do look cool, kinda retro.

I hear they may run a little more efficiently, but Stihl is worried about kickback & lawsuits.

One of the other guys did timed cuts and the wide nose won every time over the narrow nose. That bigger radius is less drag.
