I have my 372XP now about 4 years, do self maintenance and know my saw pretty good.
The work was finished and I was busy cleaning the saw,
when I saw the following in the chain oil tank:

What is this strange thing?
Belongs it in the 372XP or is this comes off a refill can ?

Thanks!

Very odd indeed! have you looked at the IPL( Illustrated Parts List ) to see if you can find the part?

I don't remember anything like that on a 372?

A plug like used on demolition saws when the oil tank isn't used?

Howdy,
I can't tell the size by the picture but, it sure looks like one of those plugs they put in place of an oil cap on the powercutters.
Regards
Gregg

I remember now that the seller (a schoolboy who earned some money by selling used garden equipment)
told me that the saw came from a sawmill.
I have this 'sales talk' never taken serious, but maybe it's true anyway ...

Moreover, the size is: 1½ x 0,9 inch
