stump grinder question and options?

A guy in my area that has done stump grinding for the last thirty years wore out/ blew his last engine on his stump grinder. I have the option to buy into it and get the referals from him and take the machine off his hands at what would be a very cheap cost.

He is the original owner of the unit. It has a 35hp I think wisconsin. It is a vermeer machine.

He said that engine is no longer available. This engine has not been rebuilt so it is my understanding it could be overhauled/bored out one time?

Any ideas on cost to overhaul this engine or is there a better option to replace it with. This is the third engine on this unit.

I can find out more on model numbers if needed. The man is 76 years old and is done with it.

if he is willing to give you referrals then buy a new grinder and take over the business. no sense in funking with a old gas grinder.
