I bought a super 1050 automatic yesterday from my neighbor for $300 with a new chain. Runs perfect. Did I do good? Can I get a little history?

The 1050 was Homelite's second-biggest saw of its time at 100cc displacement. The 2100 was the top dog, and I am still looking for a nice one. The 1050 could be had with up to 60" bar. I have one that mostly carries a 36" bar with .404 full skip chain. My only complaint is the lack of a compression release. You have to really mean business when you pull that rope. That old large Homelite bar mount is not easy to find. All of my bars for that saw class are hard nose bars.

Bars for the following saws will work, but you must modify your bar plates and install an xl12's bar adjuster... AND don't tell me they won't, because I'm running a 36" on my C91 and a 44" and my C9 with the gear reduction unit. Oiling works great and no issues with anything else.

HOMELITE XL 12 SERIES, 330, 350, 360, 400, 410, 410SL, 450, 460, 540, 550, 650, 700, 750, 800, 850, 900, 922, 923, 925, 955, SUPER XL, XL-AUTO, XL125, XL-AO, XL400, 8800, SXL, VI925

That poplar was right at 60" through and looks like the 36" bar was on the C9 at the time. It's the one I'm running the 44" on now. Don't have any recent pics.

Congrats on getting a 1050. You'll want ear protection. Let's see some pics !

I'm starting to realize what a lucky score this bar was...

Well actually as the 1050 progressed the 650 then 750 were the upper dogs. The 2100 was phased out. I do like the 2100 saws. I believe I have some of them 2100 saws here somewhere

Can we get some more info an pics of that setup to use the newer style homelite bars.

That is a good looking bar and saw. Saw looks NOS. Is it, or is it a built saw using NOS parts, or even a Restored saw?

Here's the different bar mounts side by side. These are old pictures and I'll try to get some more in depth type of pics this weekend. I've got to switch some bars around anyway. I think I'm going to put my 36" on my XP1000 and put my 30" GB bar on my C91. Now I did have to modify the oil feed hole on the GB, but I haven't had to modify any of my other bars that I've installed on my saws.
