I've always had a couple questions...what's the going $ for a SS-HD?

And how durable is the SS, they look small and spindly ...the rack , drive gear and guides don't look like they could take much abuse?
I see no need for the HD model, I paid around $2500 for the J model w/table 6 years ago and it's been fine.

As for durability, most SS machines are used commercially.
I've seen a few that were severely abused, looked like hell & still working strong.
 
Well,it took me about 2 weeks, but I was finally able to pull the trigger. SS HD ordered.

What pushed me over the edge is a couple nice old ladies that I have been helping with odd jobs have given me authority to cut on their combined 30 acres. Only about 15 minutes from home and their lots are loaded with dead standing ash, oak, hickory and cherry.

Now the wait commences. I have a pile of black walnut still waiting from the clearing and 1 more to cut down. I may leave it sit and break the SS's cherry on it.
