At a sale I saw a box in the corner of the garage. It was rather large and red. Had Mahle written all over the outside. Can you guess what it is?

OK time to disclose that the box has 8 pistons and four cylinders for a VW. 85mm, four dished and four flat top. Mike

Air cooled stuff? 85mm is 1600cc beetle stuff.
That stuff is worth a nice chunk of change to the air cooled VW crowd

Well I put it up locally for $120. The cylinders are without a ridge so should be usable.
Well Bill I had a saw made from a 500 Kawai at one time. What would be the bore on that?

The first Generation of KX500's were air cooled, and remembered for their suspension more than overall performance. The air cooled engines were poorly reviewed in publications at the time, with Dirt Bike magazine most famously calling the bike "unridable" in their June of '83 issue. Kawasaki responded by lower compression ratios to make the bike more manageable and reliable, but would ultimately design a new engine from the ground up for the '85 model year.Bill G

I was referencing what another member jokingly had said about using them on a 3120. That would not be possible.
Now yes a bike/sled engine of course. Many have done it. I have a Honda CR here.
You can go much larger like Robert and others have. You ever cut with him and that thing?
It was a joke Bill, I know good and well Mike wouldn't actually put those parts on a 3120.
