Those and seedless cottonwood grow fast but don't last long.

Yup, Poplar.
I planted 10 of those hybrid Poplars 15 years ago to start a tree line to hide our view of the neighbors place, they are 50' tall now. I have been surprised they haven't dropped any large branches during high winds yet
