hand saw. lookin into the silky saws. never had one, anyone have info or favs. ? thanks

Silky is great, and samuri is probably a little quicker not sure how long it stays sharp. I think it wears out faster becoming more dull than the silky with same number of cuts. If that makes cents. As spidy would put it.

Zubat. I have a half dozen old ones collecting dust in the shop, can't bring myself to throw them away after they get dull.

Sugoi is what i like, zubat is great too.....Love the power. Just purchased a new pocket boy for ornamentals.....

Never had a Silky saw have got a Samuri though. I got the 330mm streight bladed one. Cuts so very quickly but i've made about 20 cuts with it and you can feel when cutting its lost its inital edge. Still sharp though, i was using it to coppice 4" Ash though.

about the handsaw
i have 3 Gomtaro saws + like it much. i use it nearly every day and it is razor sharp nearly half a year. extra blade is 25 euro, about 30 dollars

The Zubat seems to be most popular amongst arborists. Being the knot head I am I don't own a Zubat- I have a Gomtaro-which is ideal for orchard work and shrubbery-the straight blade has some advantages when dealiig with tight spaces and included crotches amd a Sugoi-which is awesome for bigger cuts and "chopping" sprouts. I do believe that the Zubat is the better"all around" handsaw but we specialists like our specialty tools.
