I got bored and decided to do some tinkering on my Husky36. Started out getting the oiler to put out more chain oil, and quickly fixed that problem by removing the clutch over , bar and chain and cleaned all the wood chips out. Oils very well now. Then I thought iv wanted to do a muffler mod for a while now no better saw to do it on then the 36 ( iv only got maybe $15 in the whole saw) So I took the muffler off and it was a split muffler. Removed the spark arrestor thats around a removable baffle, Then saw 6 3/8 holes in the top of it closer to the cylinder side so I put it in the vise for the drill press put in a new 3/8 drill bit and drilled 6 more holes in it in uniform. I cleaned everything well and made sure the exhaust ports on the muffler lined up with the exhaust port on the cylinder ( took the drumeal tool to it ) Put it all back together and I can see a noticable diffrence in acceleration and "spunk". Now im even happier with my $15 saw.
