Here's a pic of the wood that came home today. This is the first batch that I've brought home since buying the new saw. This went from standing to loaded and on the way home in 2 hour 15 minutes. It is 3 seperate trees. My production with the Stihl is way up. The saw just keeps getting stronger with every tank of gas. I've put about 5 tanks through it so far. This was from my third day of cutting. The other wood is still sitting in the timber waiting to be brought home. This amount of wood would have been at least 4 hours with my other saws. I know two of the trees were oak and I'm not entirely sure on the other.

I have a trailer similiar to yours that I used forever. Can haul a nice little load( actually would hate to see a scales a time or two) and keep the larger rounds away from the truck. I bought a 1ton gmc to haul some scrap iron and now it hauls both my wood and iron.

nice haul...i also use the same trailer. load it up really good and you can get a half cord or so on it

This is slightly off topic but its a good point. I noticed your trailer ramp is designed to fold down onto the bed. Least it looks like it in the picture. Mine was made to do the same. I bought a second trailer and it was the fixed type to where it always is in the up position. If ever there is a choice be sure to get the type that folds flat onto trailer deck. Its amazing how much of a wind drag those damn ramps are. Drove mine from virginia empty and believe it cost me about $100 more in fuel then it would have otherwise.

gstang nice trailer

gstang i have a 16" double axle trailer kind of like yours and i wqant to put sides on it. removable if possible. can u give me any ideas/

Mkarlson,

The ramp will fold flat to the bed of the trailer. That is the way I run it without a load on or the four wheeler in. I've noticed the wind drag myself.

That ramp is a lifesaver sometimes in the woods. There have been rounds that I can't pick-up that I will roll up the ramp and then kick off when I get home.

This wood won't see a maul (I don't own one). It will however see the hydraulic splitter. I have been thinking of getting a maul to take out cutting wood to bust up some of the rounds before I pick them up to put on the trailer.

Sill more to go

This was one of 4 loads hauled last weekend from my Brother in-laws newfound horse pasture. Probably 6-9 more full loads for the next free weekend. Yes there is a lot of pine in there. But it has that magic number with it of free and close.

Really nice wood Matt,

Did that come off of the land you purchased recently?

How's that Chevy holding up for you? I like that new body design, wondered what you thought of the truck?
