What kinda tree is this in these pics?

The one pic show the nut/fruit.

Is it a Persimmon tree?

I think so

The fruit & leaves look to be persimmon. The bark patern looks like it also, but perhaps a tad too smooth. Although this could be due to natural variation or the apparently young age of the tree.

I thought it was, but I thought I remembered persimmon having a more oblong/oval shaped fruit.

We just bought the place a year ago and we're trying to figure out what trees we have.
