Anyone using the treepedo? PROS? CONZ?:givebeer:

It looks pretty cool, but it is WAYYYYYY overpriced at $100 CA which is about $75 US, I believe. If it gets down to $30, including S&H from the Great White North, I may get a couple.

Treepedo pros and cons

pros of the Treepedo
Safe to use because of its ease of movement even on retrievals, simply pull in opposite direction of missed shot navigates the tree like a slippery fish.
will help to prevent failure of hazardous trees while positioning for TIp or positioning rope
optimal geometric form for two way torpedoing
arborist are commenting they wil use it any time any where over the throw bag
adaptable-personalize it with stickers, paint, reflective tape, weights, coupling bolts, interior and exterior connection

"optimal geometric form for two way torpedoing" :hmm3grin2orange:

Why are you throwing it at windows and cars. Aren't trees the target. i use the gig shot for my tough throws and am accurate to about 40'. Be caeful so no one gets hurt.

The Treepedo is made of precision machined aluminum and stainless steel. The two cones couple together precisely with internal SS weight machined to fit inside precisely also comes with S.S. cotter pins, split ring, coupling bolt and protective sleeve. $ 100.00 is very reasonable if you consider the material and craftsmanship. Also replaces a lifetime of throw bags and is multi-purpose. Throw bags are actually costing you more money in comparison. Wasted materials, wasted time, wasted efforts and the never ending frustrations with jamming snagging etc.
We have come this far with the Treepedo because I designed it to save me as an arborist time, money and effort which it has easily done for me every time I throw it. Decision is yours I can only give you the info.

Hey man, no offense. I can see that you joined here to hawk your gizmo. Cool. Thing is, I've had my same throw bags for the last five years and have never had a major problem other than a rip in one which I sewed up with an awl after filling it with copper shot. I don't know what your production costs are, but I have a feeling that you're maybe trying to turn a pretty high profit per sale. That's your choice, and right, but I can't see popping for one, at your price, as it now stands. Good luck, though.

$ave time

If it really saves time it could easily be worth the $
Treepeedo please explain how this will save time compared to shotbag/bigshot
I see the 2 way streamlined shape what else makes it better?

I cannot recall needing more than five minutes to hit a target limb. If the throw cannot be set up with a throw bag, I can't see how the new gizmo will do any better when it comes to a given trajectory. Granted, I can see how it might not get stuck as easily as a throw bag, but that's about it.

When it comes to tricky placements, if I try to get my bag over a poorly positioned limb and it won't set after five throws, I set my target elsewhere. I never waste much time with a throw bag, so I can't see popping for big bucks for this new gizmo.

I tie my bag using a slippery slip knot where I can untie it in seconds before pulling my line back out. I have never had a throw bag get stuck because I never pull it back up and out once it fails to set where I wanted it to.

Five years is really impressive and congratulate you for being so darn good. For me before the the Treepedo I averaged 3 to 5 per year and from travelling aroung the US, Uk and hearing from down under the average of five is quite common. Production costs are what they are, therre is 3 main pcs all precision machined so it all slides together smooth and easy. We are grass roots and there has never been anything like it and soon as we get more sales like anything else the price will go down as production increases but i like to stress the Treepedo wworks well at what it claims and that includes making you money. My return on investment is alot further away than you can imagine. I this point I am sharing a cool tool that works.

On missed shots it is common to untie and rethrow, with The Treepedo it is more practical to retrieve because you simply pull it back opposite the direction it was thrown it is like a slippery fish navigating the crown and you are in control. No need to go into the neighbours, poison ivy, onto decks and landscape etc. retrieving a throw bag is futile most times
Treepedo is fun and enjoyableand exciting to use. The throw weights are uncooperative and frustrating. This alone make the Treepedo priceless.
Treepedo decouples so you can transition from 3mm or less to 25 mm or less with smooth tapered point to by pass the tree obstacles from the ground into the crown to your tie in point and back to the ground. Arborists have been waiting for a product that can do this for many years and have been using all sorts of things bottles, caulking tips etc.
The smooth frictionless tapered cone just mentioned if you want can zip down the line so you can use it as a pull handle to pull the throw line with out hurting your hands
the large cone end can also be used to smooth your end line security knot on your life line.
Precise projection into tree because it will pierce through the twigs and foliage where the throw bag will just fall short.
It will reduce the time to access tree because not every one is a perfect shot and most trees are a dirty mess that needs to be cleaned up.
Lifetime guarantee so if you can break we will repair or give you a new free of charge. Two things our tests could not do 1.jam it and or 2.break it.
Please read some of my other posts.
Every time you miss or get hung up with the throw bag you place wear on the line, the throw bag, the tree, your patience etc.
The design is multi-purpose and optimal for smooth easy rope access.

I know exactly what you are saying. I have over 10 years devoted to the throw weight and still bring one along. But skill can only get you so far before you meet an obstacle or stiuation that leaves your bag in the tree or worse. Truethfully the invention came about with one job in particular where i had to set lines in 7 dead Scots Pines full of decay, you only had to say Boo and they would drop limbs. I invented the Treepedo 1st to smooth the knot transition so I could avoid a major tree failure onto the hydro and communication lines, landscape, fence and a nearby home and road when positioning the ropes for the pull down and realized that not only is the tapered point practical for this situation it made just as much sense for use during projection andd positioning for the Target.
Its available now if you ever find your self in a pickle or if you just want to experience the ease of movemtnt

What's the height distance you can get out of it? As others have said Big shot and throw bag are really accurate once one is competent at using them. Takes me 1-2 shots 100% of the time with the Big shot. I couldn't open the youtube video from the computer I was using is there another way of launching it other then it shows on your site?

Point taken about the accuracy but Shooting it accurately through limbs leaaves and branches and then isolating your tip and then pulling your rope up and through and down to the ground is accomplished smooth and easy with the Treepedo and virtually impossible with the throw weight if you take into consideration most trees and most throw weights do not cooperate. The Treepedo is a specialist the throw weight has its purpose and its up to you when and where you need it. I prefer it any time, any where just because that is what it is designed to do, where the throw weight is a lump of weight wrapped in material with no guarantee and is considered by most as a disposable item.
Send me your email and I can send you are video in some other formats m/b.

height wise easily over 200' no problem watched a 180' climb straight up am not sure how long could have been few second or more before it started to descend. Its built for speed and ease of movement any way you handle it
