i would have to say piss elm. father filled the basement with it one year and safe to say it never happend again!

I too am leaning towards trash, RR ties, or potentially some trees, but there is always someone giving fire places a bad name by burning trash.

cotton wood can stink so bad a skunk will cover his nose and run. me most poplar and aspen when burned semi green can just about knock me out. but then again sum timez the fouler the smell the more i get hungry,why i do not know. now my boots after 12 hours of work make my cat run:yoyo:

Well, since all the stinky woods listed are in my own pile for this year, I"ll just have to keep my nose on the lookout.

So far, have never had a wood with an intolerable odor.

The perfume section of a store, that is intolerable, yuck.
