I was offered some free wood but i don't know what it is. Any one have a idea of what it could be?

Wood and bark look like Ash.

Pretty sure that is ash. You can tell by the diamond shaped pattern on the ridges of the bark. Great firewood, easy to split and seasons very quickly compared to most other hardwoods.

I got a super humongous ash in my yard that looks just like that.
Looks like the sweet gums that grow down here. The stuff is full of water and very heavy but once dried weighs very little and burns very fast.

Well I was thinking there is a bit of lumber to be milled there, Also it is Ash and do not haul that around any distance. Up here it stressed pretty heavy to keep it local for obvious reasons. Not much Ash left do to the bores.
I have one Ash laying out in the pasture we brought up with the skidder last winter when we had an off day. Had planned on skidding up a bunch but my hard -headed brother did not have chains on the skidder yet and we ended up having to winch the sucker all the way up instead of using the grapple. In any event I can go take detailed pics if you want to see a similar Ash.

Not sure who that wheel weight is. I’ve had that picture on here for 10 years I bet maybe more.
I didn’t have a lot of faith in what Bill G had posted, because if a normal man had that wheel weight as a wife, they normally ain’t going to flaunt pictures of her around like that for the world to see.
It’s still a good looking wheel weight though!!
