Koga,
My first saw ever was a Jonsered 2050 bought at a box store in Charleston right before Hurricane Hugo. Paid about $300, I think. Then, in order:
MS460....new for $700 that I traded back for a...
MS361...Got a case and some loops of chain to make up the difference.
034AV...$36 yard sale special. Needed chain. Otherwise perfect.
7900...work saw. I break it out when I want to show off.
Husky 50 Rancher...inherited from Dad. Needed chain and rust removed from bar.

Stihl 015 - $5 at garage sale...ran 2 yrs now need recoil
Echo 301 - 20 at garage sale...spent 40 still won't run right
Husky 346XPG - 300 new local dealer
Johny 2156 - 440 new local dealer
Homey 330 - 150 ebay like new old stock, doubt it had 5 hrs on it
Homey 540 - traded a Stihl 029 that had been given to me...saw is a beast

021 61.00, 025 90.00 025 parts saw 60.00, ms250 110.00, 026 125.00, 036 140.00, homelite super 2 free from a friend. john deere 70v inherited. and misc. parts for all this .

Hey litefoot,
did you go to Carolina? My wife did. Big game on this Saturday.
My neighbor told me his Craftsman last ran right after Hugo '89 cleaning up his back yard. Then I got hold of it 16 years later and it sings again.
We were living in Germany when Hugo hit - it made international news back then and the locals here still talk about it with fear and awe in their voice.

Yep, I attended Carolina, but family and work needed me more so I didn't graduate. I wasn't long home from Italy (Army) when Hugo hit. Coming off a disappointing loss (kitties) and a season falling apart (chickens), the Carolina/Clemson game is kind of a dud. I'd rather watch (can't believe I'm saying this) Kansas and Missouri.

026,new in '94 $400, paid for itself in tree work really quick.
357xp, $450 powerhead in 06 (had some birthday funds to apply towards this)
Mac 7-10, $5 garage sale (retired from service)
MS 290, gift, used, from sis in law.
makita 6401, $205 at home depot, but really $5 to my mind due to
credit card "rewards" gift cards to HD. Need to earn more rewards to get the 7900 P and C for free too.

Stihl 290 $75 used
Stihl 192T 14" bar new right at $300 OTD
Stihl 441 25" bar and 36" bar new just over $1000 OTD with the extra bar and chain.
Stihl 200T 14" bar slightly used $460 shipped and on it's way

Planning on buying a 361 in the Spring.

Also looking at the Dolmar 7900.

We also have a small echo that used to be a climbing saw but can't remember the model right off hand.

Oops, forgot I just picked up an old Pioneer saw that looks to be a 60's model. It doesn't run but it was free. I figure it will be a good project saw to tinker with over the Winter.

Just by coincidence was cleaning and found the box for the 036. The receipt was still inside. $540.00 brand new in 1994.

Super Dooper Poulan IIRC-$148.00 at wally world.

MS210 required the most negotiations-Grandpa bought raffle tickets at the school fund raiser and put Granddaughters name on them. She wins the chainsaw. Won't give the saw to Dad or Grandpa, figures she should "hold on to it a while."

After about 6 months, Dad can't take it anymore, trades a little over $100 in ??????????? games for saw, finally gets to try it out.

I'll play

Husky 41 $free, birthday gift in 1994(?) I harvested one bar, a couple chains, and spent $75 or so going through it earlier this year.

Stihl 029S 20" + 16" 1 loop each $320 OTD (1999)

Stihl 361 18" $price much too low to print (2006)

Dolmar 401 16" $260 OTD (2007)

Stihl 440 20" + case, hat, spare loop $820 OTD (2007)

Stihl have a month left in '07 so who knows.

Hot off the press....
