Howdy guys. I am replacing a broke ring in my little Homelite XL (now I know why it wouldn't run right). I separated the cylinder from the sump/intake half of the motor. It did not have a gasket between the two halves, but it did have some type of hardened sealer. What sealer do I use to seal it back up for reassembly?

Thanks!

Blue goo....

Actually I like Hondabond. It sets up at the right speed for me, Dirko made me hurry too much. Whatever you use make sure that the mating surfaces are clean. I use acetone to get the old stuff off, then, after the piston and rings are started I quick wipe with brake cleaner.

Apply the sealant sparingly to both sides...
