What's a new Solo 681 worth?

I realize not many are fans of these "what's it worth" threads but I've got no other real way of determining.
New, never had fuel in it. The newer model with the primer bulb. Any and all opinions helpful, thanks.

They closed out at $499 @ Baileys. They were in the $700 range for the most part

Thanks for that. So significantly less than a comparable 7900 even though slightly more power.

Keep in mind though the 681 has had a lot of crankshaft problems.

I read about a bunch of those but always wondered if that was par for the course or more as a result of being used as race saws.

When they first came out, we had two come into our shop that were around 5-6 weeks old each. One had a blown big end rod bearing, and the other had the PTO stub shaft broken off. Otherwise they were mint.

Crazy! Some guy just sold a couple of these for $1200 apiece. One new, one used.
Are these that good that they're worth more now that they're discontinued?

Supply and demand comes into play when an item has a great reputation, like the 200t. Must be these are that good then.

There is now a two steps down in power 665 in the AS classifieds for $800. Was that model afflicted with the same crankshaft problems?

I was told.....and have no way of knowing if this is true, that Solo fixed the crank issues.....

l have a 681 with many hours on it running in Ozzie hardwood with 20/28" bars and no crank issues so far. l think mine is a 2011 model and they first came out in 2009.
