262xp KS served me well for over 20 years. Have only owned 257-261-262-371-372-385-390-394-346-357-540-550I-550II-562-572. Several of each, like many with CAD. Down to 3 now, 550II, ported 372, 572. Think I am done now. 550II is favorite for 18" and under.
I'm at 3 also. A ported 365 x-torq, a bone stock 372xpg and a 550 MKII. 550 MKII with an 18" factory bar has quickly become a favorite for all-around use.
Please stop talking about 50cc saws... I haven't touched my 346xp since I got my 562xp lol

You should try a 550mkII also. 346xp not so much. 562xp is a great saw, will pull a 24 in red oak just fine.
Yeah I really like the 562xp, been very reliable for me. Pulls a 20" no issues. Thought a few time to swap out to the 24" off the 390xp.... the wife will kill me if I buy too many more saws lol, I'd like a 550.....
I feel ya, it's an unpopular opinion to some, but I don't even know why I even own 50cc saws anymore besides climbing with them.

If you get one get a MKII. Its worth the little extra, they "bulletproofed" it from what I seen from the MKI. Although I've seen mixed opinions on the MKI. Some guys get 1,000+ hours on them, some say the bearings go out within 200. Ive yet to see a complaint about the II.

Complaint will be about weight and wider. Not as nimble handling, whatever that is. I just cut firewood.

Original Edition 365/372 or Jonsered 2165/2171 saws. Nothing to date is the combination of light weight, easy to work on, power to weight ratio, and reliability as that first version. And this for me excludes the 372 X-torq/2172 X-torq series which are both heavier and had more issues than the OE's. Current project / work saw for me is a 2165 48mm version and it is a really easy to live with saw.
346XP for me, and I'm generally a Stihl guy. Liked the first one so much, I had to buy a second.

Let’s see. I own a 346xp(OE) several 346(NE), a 55 rancher, several 350s, a 550xp, a beat up 562xp, too many 371/372 variants, two 395xp(s) and a 3120.
My go to saw is the 562xp but my favorite saws are the 395xp. Like Christen Bale said, it is horsepower.

Never used a 272 but I love my 266 xp. Very powerful. Prefer it over my ms441.
Yeah , doubt you will be saying that 40 yrs from now lol. Ran a 660 in my 40,s when I needed it . Sold my 576 last mth , do not need a heavy saw these days for firewood . I have 3 50 cc class saws now that do the majority of my cutting . Occassionaly I pick up a 60 + class saw for a quick fell or a hr or so of bucking . However when ever I am limbing I go with a 16 " or 18 " bar . My days with a 70 + cc saw & 36" bar are behind me lol. Have fun !
