i have been notacing that stihl lists there horsepower . in break? horsepower . bhp. and alll others seem to list hp. just horsepower . is there a difference ? hoot :newbie:

That is the simple version, but some brands seem to just put the "b" there on some markets as an afterthought, without recalculating the numbers - so don't trust it.
KW numbers are more trustworthy, as there is only one defination of kW, but even those can be measured in different ways, I believe.
The whole thing is a mess, but generally gets you close enough for comparison.
