Lookin for a new 100cc saw,
Whats out there?
Whats out there?
I don't think there are any 100cc saws currently
Would guess it would depend on what you want to do with the saw. Your choice is 90ish cc or 120 ish cc, for new saws. The 120 cc saws are HEAVY. Not something you would want to lug around all day. Powerful? Very much and with a little tinkering they can be a lot more powerful.
The 90cc saws are a lot less weight to lug. They work in all but the largest wood that requires long bars (over 42"). Again with a bit of porting, they wake up and become much more sporty.
There is also a 25 to 35% bump in price when you move from 90 to 120cc.

Hal, what new/currently manufactored makes & models are 120cc? I'm asking seriously, I don't really keep up with new saws.
Actually, there never were any saws that were exactly 100cc, if that is what this is about - those that were called 100cc all were "only" 99cc.
The currently made saws that are over 100cc are the (smaller to larger) the 070/MS720, 076, 3120xp, MS880 and the 090 - as far as I know.
