Which saw should I have ported.

I have three chainsaws
MS 261 CM
MS 400 CM
And a MS 500i

I was wanting to try a ported saw and see how it would lively up my saw/saws. I just don’t want a louder saw. I already have hearing loss and use plugs and muffs.

Places you recommend to do the porting?
And what saw to send in to see if I like a ported saw. Which saw would be the best to port?

It's hard to make more power without making them louder too, the quiet mufflers really hold them back.
Talk to someone who ports saws to see if they will even port one with a quiet stock muffler.

I'd buy the pico set up or the narrow .325 for the 261 and call it good, this will make it cut faster, without making more noise.

My mastermind ported 261 doesn’t seem loud compared to my stupid loud 462 with the Egan ss muffler.

Oh, and I'd probably work the 261 or 500 over. Doing the 400 just turns it into a 500 which you already have.
