How many cords are in this pile?

Just enough...

At the end of summer every year there is a sprint car race in Yakima Washington; there is a mill on the north end of town that has a stack of logs no were close to the one pictured above but it is pretty big stack (a few years back we were there for the two day show).

When we were pulling into Yakima that stack of logs look huge and they had sprinklers going on it we didn't understand why they had sprinklers going on as while; we woke up on the second day of the race event by motel workers telling us we had to leave the motel because the log stack was on fire it knock out all the power to the town and the race event had to get portable lighting for the last night of racing that stack burned for a few days.

This is my first post, i just found this site today. Great site.

Here in Ms. the saw mills spray water on their log piles continuously to keep "bugs" from getting into the wood. As long as the water is flowing the beetles and such will not brave the water and will not infest it.
