Greetings all! My local landfill was nice enough to have a pile of trees waiting for me this morning when I arrived. I snatched up a bunch of 'em as usual. I'm not sure what this stuff is, but the bark sure looks like locust (honey?) to me. Thing is, I seem to remember locust being a lot heavier than this was. Any takers on ID'ing this lot?

:agree2:

Black Locust, but I am banking on wild grape or virginia creeper on the vine...

Easy one locust ,what vine?

Cool, glad to hear that's black locust.. I'll have to go back tomorrow and fetch more if there's any letft. Regarding the vine comments - if that is indeed poison ivy, I'm one of the lucky few that doesn't get a rash from it... So no worries. Thanks again all!

30 year old locust? Looks good....and I like the chainsaw-cut patterns on your pics. I still for the life of me can't tell what is honey or what is black locust, but there are a plenty threads on here about that topic. Carry on.
