Zooger 1, my new 4way splitter

Zogger mentioned something the other night in a thread and bang the lights came on. Why didn't I think of this before, a splitter with a 4 way head and it's enviromentally friendly to boot. And even better was I had all the parts laying around and wasn't even using any of it. I can't believe the time it is going to save me. I might even go into production and sell a few. I used it on some 1 year seasoned maple rounds and it worked great, I was pleasantly surprised.

And aarolar, don't even start on it not being a wood handle. I didn't have a decent long enough wood axe handy. That synthetic sure stinks when you heat it up with the welder, I had to keep watering it down.
I think it might even be better than a Fiskers. Yup, I said it.

That'll split wood like a dream...just have to use the same kind of wood the guys use in all the super split videos and you'll have nooo problem..

Dang..slick.. I can think of a lot of neat stuff, just cant build it. wood, build anything, gets to welding..nope.

I was surprised how well it worked on dried out maple splits. I screwed up and put the heads a little too far back though, I should have kept them all even on the front. I thought maybe the main head would start the split then the 2nd heads would split next but if you swing too hard the 1st splits go flying before the 2nd heads start splitting. It still works but would be better closer. I might try it outside tomorrow. It's not ready that heavy cause 2 heads are hachets and the main is a splitting axe not a heavy maul. Of course I'm built like a brick sheet house and am planning on running 1 in each hand and have my wife stand up the rounds. Lesser men might wannna just use 1 axe to start.

Your next one, all the edges even, but shaped and welded like a big broadhead point. You want that X shape, but it all comes to a point of some degree sweep in the center. Sort of like those cone wedges, but with four cutting / splitting surfaces, and the point to establish the beginning of the split and get it going in good before the wedge action happens. That's the best I can describe it, what I was thinking previously. Big wide broadhead.
