This fine old beast arrived the other day - a not so common Homelite 995G. This saw popped up on here a few months ago, and after a bit of negotiation it was mine.

The saw originally had a broken recoil starter cover - something which sets the 995 apart from its older brothers, but the owner was lucky enough to find a nice replacement one for me. The saw is fitted out with a 40" hardnose bar, and a nice loop of 1/2" chain. It has decent compression and spark, so hopefully will not take alot to get it going again.

Here are some pics of the saw:

Regards,

Chris.

Better Warn the 090G's in Oz..............Daddy is in town!!!

Another great Homelite gear drive score for you. You've been on a roll lately Chris. Now maybe you'll let us keep some of 'em in the US!:D

Interesting. I've never seen a 995 D or G before. They have a bit of C91 DNA in 'em with that starter. Is it the 'overrunning bearing' type like the C51/71/91? They have a different air filter element than the earlier saws of that series too IIRC. Now go get it running and post a video of it making BIG Euc chips!

Thanks for the comments gents. I have been pretty fortunate to get lucky with my negotiations lately so all is good.

Yes Eccentric - the starters on these saws are the overrunning bearing type as found on the other series Homelites of the same vintage. No more ashtrays with these units.

Dan - I hope you can find one of these 995's oneday - I am sure you will.

Regards,

Chris.
