Found this on the web. I like the handle config. I should be getting some this week.

I like it, but hope they didnt add to much weight to the saw.....I want to find ms 200, but there getting hard to find.

That's cool. The rear-handle version DOES exist. Interesting that there's a 241 sign on it. I wish they would send the 241 over here, but that's not likely to happen in this lifetime.

I was at the stihl shop yesterday and he said the ms201t was going to be available in September. I'm a big fan of the 200t as I use it everyday climbing. The 201 is supposed to have a better power to weight ratio and better gas millage as all new stihls. Lets just hope there not like husky and there yada yada b.s like there 560/562 it will be out next month crap!

Its coming! There already out in other countries just not here yet... I saw the demo yesterday, its sweet. I can't wait to get one. The dealer said next month, we'll see about that. But I hope so. The 200t is a little powerhouse. And the 201t is replacing it. It has better a.v as well.

The specs say the 201 will be 8.82 lbs. and put out 2.41 bhp. Thats over a pound from the 200. Interesting since the 201T is said to be mere ounces heavier than 200T. Must be the new handle style.

Or maybe the 201 in the pic with the elasto handle is about 7.9lbs and the 201 CE with the easy start is 8.82. This makes sense since easy2start adds weight. I think the U.S. will have CE and everybody else, the regular.

Thanks for the info

I hope we dont get the CE with easy start, dont like it and dont want the weight

Looks like US market gets CE only. I took some snap shots of both models.

The MS 201 T weight wise feels identical to the 200. Can't tell a difference. The handling is slightly different, maybe the texture of the material.

Old news really, but news need to be repeated here, to stick in the mind of most members........

The large "weight jump" was a misunderstanding, from comparing the 200T to the rear handle 201 - in reality the difference is very small, if it exists at all.........

As always, it is importand to get the basic version(s), without any of Stihls silly add-ons.....

Btw, some of that issue has "rubbed off" to other brands as well.......

You're right, 201T is 8.2lbs, 200T 7.9, 201CE is 8.8. Yeah, I can't tell any weight diff. between 201T and 200T.

I also agree about the additional features. They should just be optional and not standard, especially on a commercial built saw. But this is only for the U.S. market from what I gather.
